An Assistant Administrator helps a team or organisation with day-to-day office tasks. It’s a great way to gain experience and develop skills that can be used in lots of different jobs and workplaces.

You could:

  • use computers and digital systems to enter and update information
  • help colleagues with everyday tasks
  • communicate with customers, colleagues, and other organisations
  • organise information and keep records up to date
  • work as part of a team to make sure things get done on time

You’ll work with support from your supervisor and build valuable skills in communication, organisation, teamwork, and using digital technology.

It’s a great starting point if you want to build your confidence, gain workplace experience, and develop skills for your future career.

  • organise your work, for example planning tasks, managing diaries, and booking
  • follow workplace policies, procedures, health and safety, confidentiality, and security requirements
  • solve problems by taking appropriate action and raising concerns
  • build positive relationships with colleagues and customers
  • keep track of equipment, materials, and supplies when required

The assessment process

For this apprenticeship you must complete 2 defined assessments:

1. A portfolio of work with a question-and-answer session

2. Either a further 60-minute question and answer session or a 2000-word work-related project.
