Start your career with an apprenticeship
An apprenticeship gives you the opportunity to earn, learn, and get real experience at the same time.
You’ll have a real job, get paid, and learn valuable skills while working alongside experienced colleagues. You’ll develop the skills, knowledge, and professional workplace behaviours that can help you build your career. Apprenticeships are a great way to get experience, increase your confidence, and achieve a recognised apprenticeship qualification or standard.
Why Middlesbrough Community Learning?
We work with Middlesbrough Council and local employers to provide apprenticeship opportunities across Middlesbrough.
We support more than 50 apprentices every year, giving local people the chance to learn new skills, gain valuable workplace experience, and take their first steps towards a rewarding career.

Apprenticeships we offer
Coming in 2027 – foundation apprenticeships
A foundation apprenticeship gives you the chance to earn while you learn, gain real workplace experience, and explore your future career options.
Along the way, you’ll develop practical and technical skills, confidence, workplace behaviours, and employability skills, as well as improving your maths and English skills.
Foundation apprenticeships are open to young people aged 16 to 21, or up to the age of 25 if they have an EHCP.
A foundation apprenticeship is a great opportunity to find your strengths, experience the world of work, and learn skills which will help you in the future.
Check back soon to find out about the foundation apprenticeships we’ll be offering.
