Our care and support academy takes place every month at the Employment and Skills Hub in the Cleveland Centre.
Our two-week programme includes
- Introduction to job roles within the care and support sectors (including housing)
- Effective communication skills
- Basic life support (first aid)
- Level 1 Food Hygiene
- Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
- Manual handling
- Support with DBS checks
- Safeguarding
- Short work placement or work trial
- Guaranteed interview, interview support, and reference
